I have a lot of books. I love books. I love books so much that I cannot go to a garage sale or a thrift store without buying one or two of them. My books sit on shelves, in bookcases, on tables, and are stacked on the floor. I have books in my living room, my bedroom, the bathroom, and even in my car. I am never without a book.
Because I have so many books AND because I like to upcycle and repurpose things, I have combined these dual passions to create Book Page Bar Coasters.Coasters are useful, when you don't want the sweat from a cold glass or can dripping all over your table or bar.
Brief Step by Step Instructions:
Step One: Using books from my personal library (sometimes I have two copies of the same book), I first tear out the pages.
Step Two: Then I select a free graphic from Google Images, being careful not to use any that have watermarks on them because those are the ones I'd have to pay for. (Note: I am willing to pay, if necessary, and you should too, if it calls for it.) .
Step Three: I print the graphic onto a book page.
Step Four: I adhere the book page with graphic onto a fiberboard bar coaster using mod podge and then trim.
A few weeks ago I made 400 of these as wedding favors for my daughter's wedding. They were such great conversation pieces and added to the fun and creative atmosphere of the day.
