Little Boy Explorer Bedroom for Less Than $250

I had so much fun creating this room for my son. I really wanted to strike a balance between creating a room that looks good and making it a room that truly works for a two year old. I wanted this room to be fun, unique, and, of course, inexpensive. I made, repurposed, or painted pretty much every single thing in the room. And I did it all on a teeny, tiny budget. This entire room was put together for less than $250. Yep, that's right. For the entire room!

The Little Explorer Big Boy Room! Paint really can transform anything. The gray stripes on the curtains were painted as well as the blue weathered dresser.

This is what the room looked like before - a half decorated guest room. So the $250 budget had to go far!

One of my favorite parts of the room are the Explore letters over the bed. I love the mix of different fonts and materials! (The wood slice O is my favorite). These were gathered from various craft supply stores and then a few were updated with some paint or stain.

The other side of the room has a chair for snuggling, a vintage toolbox full of picture books, hanging globes collected from yard sales, and a gallery wall full of art worthy of a little explorer. The National Parks map, Live in the Sunshine sign, photo canvas, and blue arrow are all DIY projects. You can check out more photos along with links to all of the tutorials at the link below.
