Outdated Dresser Set Gets French Country Makeover

When I found an outdated Dixie dresser set on Craiglist, I knew I had potential. The set had been damaged by markers, crayons, and other permanent stains and wear, but had great bones. Since this style of dresser is typically made out of a composite top that can't be sanded down, there was only one thing to do...paint.
With a gorgeous blue, glazing, and some DIY fun, the set is now a French country blue, just in time for our Themed Furniture Makeover Day. Come see how this finish was achieved!

Now with its new look, this sweet set is perfectly ready for a French country bedroom

Only cosmetic defects were the offenders in this set scored from Craigslist. Highlighters, markers and wear to the tops and cabinets deemed it worthy of a makeover.

A soft gray/blue suited the dresser set well and is fast becoming one of my and my client's favorite shades.

Glazing the furniture and pulls creates character and texture that really help tell the story of this vintage set.

I'm excited that I've finally tried my hand at my own furniture wax, and am so please with the outcome...a soft lustre telling a story of days gone by.
