Goodwill Sweaters Make Fun Fall Home Decor!

Would you believe that these fluffy, soft, adorable started life off as sweaters? Sweaters from the thrift store, no less! Read on and I'll tell you how you can make a minimum of 3 pumpkins per sweater.

I found several sweaters in white and off-white that I used for my pumpkins, but you can look for any color. Sweaters that have texture like fluffy fabric, or cable knit are the best ones!

Cut the sleeves off, and cut the main part of the sweater from armpit to armpit. You can make 1 pumpkin with each sleeve and a larger one with the body of the sweater. Turn inside out and knot the end with a rubber band. Fill the base with some dried beans. The beans help it hold its shape and stand up. Stuff with fiberfill. Make it as tall or short as you'd like. Then tie off the top with another rubber band.

Instead of cutting the excess sweater sleeve off, I wrapped it with twine to make a fun long stem!

Another option is to use vintage clothespins or even sticks for your stem!

Depending on the sweater you use, and the type of stem and embellishments you choose, your pumpkins can each look unique!
