This is a custom piece that I recently completed. My client recently moved into a custom designed home, and she really wanted to put furnish the interior with unique pieces.
She had seen several of my image transfer pieces, and decided that she wanted an image to be placed on an antique wooden door.
We wanted the color of the door to be neutral, so that the image would be the main focus. My client found the image on Etsy.
The bottom section of the door reads 'No Grit. No Pearl'. Fabulous saying!
When my client's niece saw the door, she instantly knew that the door should be called 'Pearl'. And so it is.
To incorporate it inside the home, the door was hung with antique barn hardware. It is now the sliding door to the downstairs closet. This is a great way to bring art into the home, especially if wall space is at a premium. This would also work, horizontally, to hide a wall-mounted flat screen TV.
She loves the end product. I think it turned out beautifully.
