We wanted to give our master bedroom a real focal point, and this relatively easy DIY sure did the trick!First, we measured the wall to see just how much fabric we needed to make a ceiling to floor, full-looking curtain AND a shorter valance. We used two panels of 54" wide fabric in this lovely fern print. Along the edge of the valance I stitched this fun coordinating trim!Unless you're lucky enough to hit studs every time, you'll need wall anchors. Sorry for the blurry photo...
Find the center of your bed and measure out from that to each side to determine where you want the bed drape to end. We installed a hook in the center to give extra support for the rod (all that fabric is heavy). Here are the curtain rods we used. Nothing fancy, as you can see. The fabric covers them completely.Once the mounting hardware was installed, we put up the drapes. As you can see, we had some help. Cough. And, ta-daaaa! Here's the finished look! Here's another. Stay tuned for a bedding project we have in the works! For more pictures of cute terriers and more DIYs, recipes, etc. check out our blog!Original article and pictures take http://www.hometalk.com/10173562/a-modern-spin-on-canopies-testers site
