I could have gone out and bought something (not in the budget), or purchased the wood to build something (also not in the budget and perhaps out of my range of skills), but instead I wanted something using materials I already had, or that were very inexpensive.
I had some leftover 10 foot PVC pipe and 12 inch rebar from another project, and these (along with some zip ties) were just what I needed to build a tee-pee type garden trellis. If you buy the materials, it would cost under $10!
3 - 12 inch steel rebar pins or stakes (3 @ $1.10)
3 - 1/2 inch, 10 foot PVC pipes (3 @ $2). The rebar should fit inside the end of the PVC. Check it before you buy it!
4 zip ties (4 @ .20)
Drill with drill bit (bit needs to be slightly larger than width of zip ties)
Mallet or hammer
scrap wood (optional)
