A Room in Guilford Green W/ Whitewashed Brick and Thrift Store Finds

I used Benjamin Moore Guilford Green on my family room walls and whitewashed my brick (brick was a previous HomeTalk post found on my profile) to create a brighter and more inviting family room. More tutorials and paint tips on www.thepainteddrawer.com

Here is the "before' of the brick hearth and painted paneling on top.

One more "before" of my husband replacing the old parquet flooring with new hardwood flooring. This change alone really updated the look of the house.

The new paint color and the whitewashed brick really brighten the space. I also painted the beams a bright white, as well as the paneling on top of the fireplace in Benjamin Moore White Dove.

On my previous post, where I shared how I whitewashed my brick, a lot of comments were made on how I styled my mantel and room. Here I can share how I changed it up and added vintage glass for a different look.

I also incorporated an old window with its original chippy paint.

Colored glass mason jars (new) look pretty aside the vintage glass that I have collected throughout the years.

I painted the walls in Benjamin Moore Guilford Green and added my own thrift store pieces into the room, such as this little chest of drawers.

The coffee table was a $14.00 thrift store find that I painted and waxed in Provence Blue.

I splurged on new roman shades for my windows and purchased them at Bed Bath and Beyond.

The dresser under the TV was $90 from Goodwill - score!

The rug is from Ikea and although small for the room, I love the color and we have three kids and a dog so I really don't want an expensive or large rug in the room.

This is a good shot of the Guilford Green. It's a restful green.
