I know all of you here on Hometalk will appreciate this one! So often I see discussions on this wonderful site about what a shame it is when people paint over beautiful wood, and, though I am a painter most of the time, with this piece I made the decision to leave it be. :)
I got this beauty for a STEAL at a garage sale! Any guesses on the price? And, when I took it home I tried to brainstorm how I would make it even better, but couldn't come up with anything. It was gorgeous just the way it was!
Now, it was very dirty and the legs were all rusty, so it got a little cleaning, but, you guys, that is it!

Two of the drawer handles were missing and I wondered what I was going to do about it. Luckily, they had been placed inside the drawers!
Oh, and while we are talking about those adorable little drawers...they were full of stuff!!! I couldn't believe it when I opened them!
Ribbons, buttons, even the ancient instruction manual. It was like finding a treasure box!
The sewing machine that came with it astounded me! All the details were amazing!

Doesn't it look great between those two chairs (another restore project of mine).
Anyway, I wanted to share about this lovely antique sewing table here because, again, I knew you would all appreciate the fact that I left it in all it's glory. Some pieces look great painted, but some are better left untouched.
