Old Window Pane Wall Decor

My friend wanted help creating a wedding gift for her soon-to-be husband. She needed my help to refurbish an old wooden window and attach photographs/write on the glass. I found a window pane that would work at an antique store.

I sanded it down.

I taped edges and covered the glass. Then I primed the wood.

Two coats of paint later, it was ready for caulking and new hardware.

Then I wrote on one side of the glass with dry erase marker the phrase I wanted to paint. This ensured I got the spacing I liked.

I flipped the pane over so that I was painting on the back side of the window. The dry erase words were now backwards. I painted over the lines.
Then I used mod podge on the front of regular photographs to attach them to the pane. This did end up a little cloudy, perhaps an adhesive made for photos would be wiser.

The finished result!
