An Old Railing Turned New Again.

We recently purchased a house that had a rather attractive railing in the front. My husband and I saw a fence at a wedding and used it as inspiration to create a usable rustic rapped post and railing

This is what we started with. Who painted them olive green anyway?

I used sisal rope and E6000 glue to wrap the post. Each post used about 50 feet of rope, plus a little more for the cap part.

We added a white poly rope as the railing, twisting it for grip and strength.

Our final product is a rustic railing and post that fits into our yard nicely.
