I'm always trying to find affordable ways to create cute decor. The holidays are no exception! Burlap, velvet and fabric pumpkins are every where this year. Here is a quick and easy how-to for a cheap burlap pumpkin you can create at home. I actually had everything I needed on hand. There is a lot you can do with it and it can be displayed inside or outside as a porch display.
Take a 36" by 36" square of burlap, fold in half and in half again. Mark the center corner with a marker.
Unfold and place four pieces of twine (48" each) going in each direction. Hot glue a round piece of burlap to the center to hold the twine in place.
Pack your pumpkin with several plastic bags and dried beans or rocks to add weight. I used about 30 bags. Work the bags to get the shape you like and bring the twine up and pull tight. Tie off and wrap the extra twine around the extra burlap to the top. Secure the twine with a little hot glue. Trim any extra burlap off the top and add a bow or faux leaves for decoration.
It's complete! You can make these as small or large as you like.
